Derek Tran is an Army veteran, consumer rights attorney, city commissioner, and small business owner who is running for Congress to fight for Californians, not corporations in Congress.

  • Plans to cut taxes for middle-class families and small businesses.

  • Aims to invest in more public schools, early education programs, vocational education, and job training.

  • Wants to return infrastructure money back to Southern California to create clean energy jobs and reduce traffic.

    • Has served on the Orange Traffic Commission, and worked on long-range transportation and highway planning.

  • Stands with workers as a workers’ rights attorney in Orange County.

    • Will fight to increase the minimum wage to a living wage.

    • Will advocate for safer working conditions, affordable housing, and secure retirement for workers.

  • Supports raising wages for teachers.

    • Will defend women’s health rights in Congress, including Planned Parenthood funding and access to key health services such as birth control  

  • Plans to lower the cost of healthcare and prescription drugs, and expand Medicare

    • Co-owns a local pharmacy with his wife where he has helped community members access life-saving medicine and witnessed families struggle with affording healthcare.

    • Believes healthcare is a right, not a privilege. 

  • Wants to protect communities from gun violence.

    • Will take on the NRA to promote common sense gun safety laws (universal background checks, a ban on assault weapons)

  • Currently works as an attorney in Orange County who fights for immigrants
